This end-terrace cottage, built circa 1858, was constructed on the site of a former Government cement factory and the square of cottages were known as Angel Gate Cottages. The buildings were originally used as a base for coastguards and more recently were utilized as army married quarters until 1972. Cottages then passed to the ownership of Tendring District Council and now provide residential accommodation. Angel Gate is well placed for local attractions including the pier and beaches and has a range of amenities close by.
